My wife has a few 2nd/3rd cousins that are boxers (most "notably" Wilfredo Negron). On my side, my grandfather had a few pro fights but spent most of his non-amateur career tucked away as chief sparring partner for former lightweight champ Al Singer. He also split four amateur fights with Tony Canzoneri. The irony is, he was actually better friends w/ Canzoneri than with Singer, whom he despised (though more so his handlers, for holding back his own career)
