By Cliff Rold - After what amounted to two weeks off (while still providing some decent fights), big time Boxing is back in full swing this weekend with a seemingly nail biting choice for this Saturday. Showtime and the Light Heavyweights or HBO and the Welterweights? Given the high standing of the Welterweight division, the answer might seem apparent. It’s not. [details]

In the UK, we have Setanta showing Woods vs Tarver whereas on Sky Sports wr have Cotto vs Gomez. Both shows starting at 2am. Does anyone know if these fights are scheduled to clash? My sky box won’t allow me to watch one channel and tape another and I just know I’m gonna end up channel switching and miss out on action! -
They will clash. What I am doing is watching the Light-heavyweights on setanta on my TV and having the welters on sopcast on my laptop. In the UK, we have Setanta showing Woods vs Tarver whereas on Sky Sports wr have Cotto vs Gomez. The woods vs Tarver card starts at 2am on Setanta Sports and the Cotto vs Gomez card doesn't start untill 3am on Sky Sports.
We may not miss any action.Comment

I agree, the welterweight matchups seem more exciting than the light heavyweights. Although i'll check them all out and will be hoping for some good fights.Comment

I agree. The light heavyweight fights are compelling and, on paper, more evenly matched. But the welterweight card easily has the greater chance of producing action fights. Purists might find more satisfaction in the Showtime card, where the outcomes are a lot less closer to being pre-determined.
I'll watch both, but I'd be lying if I said the HBO card wouldn't be the one I'd pick if i was convincing casual fans to watch boxing this weekend.Comment
