Is crouching down too much in boxing illegal?

I didn't think it was, but I saw this one ref kept warning this one boxer when he kept crouching down to put more power behind his punches. Is it against the rules because he could kill his opponent by accident? Or is the ref a bad ref?

Bending with your head below waist level is illegal because of potential injury to the other fighter from low-blows and potential injury to the croucher because it increases likelihood that they will be hit behind the head.

Crouching for more power is not. You arn't allowed to crouch down to a squat like Tyson did.

I know in am fights its illegal, if it was illegal in pro fighting a lot of points wouldve been deducted from Sweet P.

Think it is just illegal in amateurs.

Didn't Floyd do is a few times against Hatton.

I'm sure it's illegal. The only place you can be hit is on the back of the head.

I heard you can get a warning in AM boxing for doing it. I still do but try not to.
