none of these rivalries however measure up to the intensity ferocity and literal shedding of blood of the rivalry between the boricuas and the mexicans.
it is a rivalry with profound roots for more than 70 years with frequent and brutal combats,with ups and downs on each side,always with the nationalistic pride as the recipes for battles.and everything points to it remaining as it's always been for a long time.this saturday in atlantic city 2 puerto ricans miguel cotto and kermit cintron will defend there titles against mexicans antonio margarito and alfonso gomez in what promises to be a classic in the great sporting rivalry between the two latin power houses.following these two battles ,there will be more aztec boricua wars in the subsequent months now that june 7th highly touted prospect juan manuel lopez will challenge daniel ponce de leon;as well as a possible rematch between ivan calderon and hugo cazares.then there is the possible match up between cotto and margarito if both fighters come out victorious,in a unification match july 26 in new york.
