To be fair I follow boxing more than your average Aussie and I hadn't even really heard of Joe until he beat Kessler, so no, the name Joe Calzaghe is not known what so ever.
Everyone knows who Anthony Mundine and Danny Green (recently retired) is, a fair few know Mickael Katsidis, but that's because they are local.
Most people that have any interest in sport over here know the names like Mayweather, Hatton (cos he beat Tszyu), Kessler (cos he beat Mundine), Roy Jones Jnr, Oscar De La Hoya. Few might know B-hop, Mosley and such.
As for a name like Miguel Cotto, Kelly Pavlik and some of these newer blokes you'd be hard pressed to find anyone that knows anything about them.
