Blocking / parrying aren't usually done with a clinched fist.

When u block u do it with an open fist, if u do it closed fist im not sure what will happen, but its always been stressed to me to do it with my hands open

I would also imagine clinching your fist consistantly over the course of 45 minutes straight would cause some serious strain in your hands and forearms. It would hurt.

If you got hit in the wrong spot, you could easily fracture a finger or two.

I only do it when Im punching. A loose hand can make your hand speed faster.

The man is right, close fists when u throw and loose hands while blocking.
