Btw, is it official that the winner of Cintron/Margarito gets Cotto?

Kind of a shame that if Cintron wins it means him facing another puertorrican. ....well, for us as puertorricans anyway.

It isn't official as in being a mandatory type thing, but Arum does plan to match the winner with Cotto on a summer PPV. Of course injuries or any number of things can change those plans.

It's so jam packed that its hard to remeber the main even, but I am looking more forward to Tarver/Woods because Tarver hasn't been in there in a while and I'm looking to see if he's got a little rusty or not

I don't think Marg-Cintron is gonna go 12. It's the fight most likely of the 4 to end in a KO, so that's the one I wanna see most even though I'll watch all 4. Marg should win, but either way it'll be a good one.

lol do you realize that Cintron has only been the distance in a fight 1 time........and that was in a 6 round fight? Also Margarito has only been the distance 2 times in his last 10 fights.

I think Woods will out point Tarver yes.

I'd say it's also pretty surprising to pick Dawson to stop Johnson......when Johnson hasn't been stopped in 11 years and that was due to accumulation of punishment from Hopkins. Sure he hasn't fought a young, slick fighter but he's fought people who are definitely harder hitters.

            Gomez lasting the distance?

Who did Johnson fight that punches harder than Dawson? Roy? Past his prime and didn't have anything on his punches by that point. Tarver? An overrated one dimensional puncher that looked like he had knockout power with his wins over Jones(Who has a glass jaw). Dawson also has a better knockout percentage than the both of them as well. Dawson has the best offensive weaponry that Johnson has faced and best accuracy(Other than Hopkins).

Dawson-Johnson is probably the lowest budget fight of the four, but in my mind it's by far the best. Cotto-Gomez is a joke. Margarito-Cintron is a rematch of a one-sided fight and Tarver-Woods isn't really fight of the year quality on paper. Dawson-Johnson definately has fight of the year potential even on the heels of the March fights we just witnessed.

Bob Arum's hype machine is clearly in full working order.

                  Tarver v. Woods (Woods SD)

Dawson V. Johnson (Johnson wins somehow I hope, but probably Dawson UD)

Cotto v. Gomez (Cotto by KO)

CIntron v. Margarito (Cintron by KO)

While Cintron/Margarito will likely make for the most significant and interesting bout (I may be the only one who sees faint - markedly faint - stylistic shades of Hagler/Hearns in that one, especially insofar as Cintron's tall, lanky, powerpunching fragility will intersect with Margarito's squared-up toughness), a lot of good light-heavies are fighting that night, and I'm especially interested in seeing more of Chad Dawson.

Good thing I've got not only HBO and Showtime, but also TiVo. A full night of worthwhile boxing.
