Most of these guys have refereed lots more boxing matches than MMA, which is relatively new. To me it's like the apples/oranges comparison.

yes but the mindset these refs are filled with adrenaline as well, if you watch them they are always on there toes some are ready to jump in but have to pull back the trigger for a while before jumping in.

I notice this cause jon shorle was just reffing an mma fight and I was like wtf? aint that the guy who stops Boxing matches way to soon?

IBF #1 welterweight Joshua Clottey (34-2, 21 KOs) scored a fifth round stoppage of Jose Luis Cruz (36-4-2, 29 KOs). Clottey was in command all the way, but Cruz showed no signs of being hurt and was still fighting back when referee Ricky Gonzalez surprisingly waved it off at 2:48 of the fifth.

Seems to me it was a terrible stoppage..
god damn check out dudes face from that left hook though..

          i agree with you.

bob arum is raping them for their money.

seems like all we ever see is tye fields, joshua clottey (or his brother), and yuri forman. its fine if he wants to get their names out but still...he pairs them against guys that have no business fighting them for the most part.

the ref is out of his mind...

he wasnt hurt, trapped against the ropes, or out on his feet...let him fight.
