  • If Cotto doesnt call out Floyd if he beats Cintron/Margo, then Cotto fans have to....

man up and keep it zipped.

Cotto has mentioned Floyd's name in articles and has asked Floyd to stop making excuses. But this "My promoter makes the fights, I do what they say" **** has to go from now own if he really wants to get at Floyd.

So if he gets by Gomez, he's gonna have to concentrate on the winner of Cintron/Margo. If he wins THAT fight, that is the PERFECT platform to make it known that he wants Floyd. If comes out with the same ol promoter bs, then nothing else can be said. If Cotto isnt going to be vocal about wanting Mayweather, then us, as fans cannot be as well. Thats the way I see it. I've never said that Floyd is ducking Cotto, just that Floyd SHOULD fight Cotto since Cotto has shown SOME interests in articles and interviews. But if Cotto is showing no initiative on the biggest platforms to do so, then I'm not going to say that Floyd is ****ing Cotto or that Floyd NEEDS to fight Cotto. What say you?

same here too but you gotta remember that the boxing community's thoughts on the situation is shifting already. people are getting tired of Floyd not fighting the best fights out there so im starting not to take it seriously anymore when a Floydian tries to talk their BS. i know its not reflective of what the majority thinks.

2501, i respect you post, and i agree with it. me as a fan of boxing wants to see floyd fight cotto also, because i know he would beat cotto, i guarantee it, but floyd has graduated to a businessman fighter, and he wants nig money, so cotto has to add suspense to this rivalry brewing between the two. thing that bothers me about the people bashing floyd on this forum os that they're calling floyd a coward when they don't understand what he's doing. he wants to make boxing very popular again, and you know he'll bring suspense to the fight along with his large array of skills, and you know how the press conferences will be, but cotto has to show he really wants mayweather, because articles or not, he has not come out and publicly called out floyd. he wants to fight floyd, show me that he wants it. we all know what floyd is looking for, and sorry to tell you guys, floyd isn't p4p numero uno for no reason, he has proved himself to be that. cotto is a hungry lion right? i agree with this, but floyd is the jack of all trades in boxing, and his name is only getting bigger and bigger. cotto imo, doesn't really think he's ready to fight floyd. i wish they fought at 140, when they had the chance, but arum didn't want to put cotto in the ring with floyd, and after cotto saw floyd fight bruseles and gatti, he never said anything, as far as i know, about fighting floyd, and i feel he really never wanted to fight him, but we'll wait and see how cotto does with gomez, but i don't see cotto beating floyd period. on this note, i would love to see the fight, so floyd can prove once again that he is in a league of his own.

I'm split on this one. Floyd is the legitiamte champ and Cotto is the legitimate #1 contender, so there's a natural mandate for the fight anyway. Add to that the fact that everybody's talkin about it and it will be a money fight and you figure it speaks for itself, so Cotto shouldn't have to say ****. At the same time, Cotto has surprised me with that humble **** about "that's up to the promoters". Good he don't talk smack, but it would help his case to speak up for once. I don't remember which fight it was exactly, but Mercahnt called him on that **** and said **** the promoter line who do you want and he just said "all the big names". Didn't even drop a name. I agree he don't need to call out Floyd since the public is doin it but it would help if he did.

it doesn't matter if cotto calls floyd out or not... its obvious that cotto is floyd's #1 contender.

Everyone knows the fight should be made. He shouldn't have to call him out, but unfortonately he does. Cotto should just call him out in a post-fight interview.
