Joe Calzaghe: "Bernard Hopkins is Ugly!"

The dumbest post I have ever read.

It's perfectly true. The ones I saw anyway. and I saw quite a few since my uncle was a boxing promoter. Quite a few of the long experienced amateurs had some of the same problems. I could generally tell, even if seeing a fellow for the first time, in, say a crowd, if he was a boxer or not.

There were few if any gumshields in the amateur sport and we wore no headgear, wither training or fighting. Of all the dozens of boxers I faced, or watched, although there may have been, I don't recall seeing anyone with a gumshield, until we got up to International level.

And dental hygiene hadn't even been heard of.

In my first league, (16 fights in all) I'm sure I was the only one with a gumshield, and it was a home-made one. The other guys used to want to look at it. And I wouldn't have even had that, if my older brother hadn't had an American friend who suggested it. They weren't sold in the sporting goods stores, and the proper material was impossible to get.

Hopkins has been dropping FAR more offensive insults right from the start, a lot of them un-necessary. The face lift comment from Hopkins is what originated this line, it was merely a response to this.

If Calzaghe doesn't say much against Hopkins he's lame, the minute he says a thing he's not going far enough, or being dis respectful. Jesus, he can't do anything right. Yet it's OK for Hopkins to continue trash talking.

Watch some of the press conferences, Hopkins uses a short question, to rant about himself and how crap calzaghe is. At least Joe doesn't do this, and just makes the odd comment, which considering the on slaught is understandable. Who cares.

He's not overly entertaing the, or trying the yanky trash talk, he's Welsh, and making the odd one, so what. I think he may well talk the fight up in more ways than he ever has before because Hopkins is constantly on the verbal offensive, especially as its in the states, and rightly so given the onslaught. Take it with some salt ya'll, seriously.

During a recent conference call with the media, undisputed super middleweight champion Joe Calzaghe took full aim at Bernard Hopkins over comments that were made in the past. Hopkins had told reporters that he will hand Calzaghe a facelift when the two fighters meet on April 19 in Las Vegas.
