    Can i Make Welterweight?

    Am 22, 6 foot 1, size 12 shoe, and walk around at 182 pounds. Am about to go bk to amature boxing after 6 year break, Do you guys think my frame will be to big? in the uk this is no lightmiddleweight division, and am not big or strong enough for middlewight, so am in a bad situation can i make welter and be strong? my perfect weight is lightmiddle. Do you guys know of any fighters who are huge!! for there weight classses amature or pro. thanks guys any advice would be great.

        just fight guys your size, when you start working out weight will come off and eat somewhat healthy and thats what you should fight at. no need to drain yourself for some fights that dont even matter, its not like you will be going pro so why would you want to do that to your body.

        Oh and im sure it can be done, just look at Paul Williams, Diego, JLC, but im just saying in the amateurs its probably not something you want to put your body through.

          thats going to be tough..Cory got as big at 190..and he fought welterweight. the excessive weight loss drains u....time schedule to do as such?

              I wouldn't be too worried about trying to make a certain weight, especially right now being as you just wanna start as an amateur. Don't drain yourself. Try and go as low as you can with it being comfortable for you. Just start training and you'll figure out where you should end up.
