Margo does matchup well against many of the versions we saw of Cotto. If the Judah/Quintana come foward Cotto version comes that night then Margarito matches up well.

But one thing Cotto, the so called "robotto" has shown is tremendous versatility and adaptability. Against smaller fighters he muscled in and cut off the right. Against quicker fighters like Judah and Mosley he used his jab to shorten the distance and disrupt there timing and setup shots. He also strategically switches southpaw to great success and hard connections.

Against stronger more methodical fighters he has fought off his back foot and countered well. Abdulev (sp) and even Mosley. Cotto was countering the hell out of Mosley. Cotto was on his back foot but he was still landing more punches and the cleaner punches in the last couple of rounds.

Margarito has 1 style, come forward and swing. Cotto will figure out Margarito and use adapt accordingly. Margarito's chin and heart will keep him in it but Cotto will out think him.

I think Cotto's best chance in this fight is to come forward...Everytime I've seen marg struggle is when he's moving back or dodging punches, and when I've seen him to good is when he's constatly plowing forward throwing nonstop punches, and his OPPONENTS are the one moving back trying to escape the barrage.

Cotto has to make him respect his power early, and we'll be in for a really good fight, that I don't see going the distance.

yea but i dont think he can back margarito up kermit is a harder hiter and he couldnt do it but then again cotto goes to the body so will see........i still think this fight favors tony cuz of their styles.....but none the less cotto could win as well he has all the goods to do so ....i just think tony is too strong and big and his chin is awesome

But if Marg were to win he'd likely offer Williams a rematch, fight Quintana or Berto

cotto and marg will be a great fight, ill be rooting for marg but im somewhat torn. if cotto losses the fight then it may be even harder for him to get a fight with mayweather, and honestly i feel that cotto has a better chance of beating mayweather than does marg imo.

I hear ya it does make more scince for cotto to win so we can see cotto vs floyd cuz i think it would be a better fight than tony and floyd but i also want tony to win for my own reasons as well

Assuming that happens and he can't get a Mayweather fight, my guess would be his biggest fight would be Andre Berto if he remains unbeaten.
