He had a tendency to fight Saddler's fight since he couldn't stand the man but in their second meeting (which Pep won), he stuck to his usual plan of outboxing the opponent and came out with the W. Prime for prime, I'd have to say Pep would win a difficult fight.
Pep came back and was performing great after the crash.. He may have been out of his prime, but I'm not one of those who believe that the plane crash took anything real out of him. I think he was 130-1 or something like that, when they first fought.

Sanchez or Pep for me. Damn good list. Sandy is a close third.

If Saddler was not on the list, Pep.

With Saddler in the list, the best would be Saddler, Pep, and Chava.

I wish they fought before Pep's accident. So I'd know better.

I think Saddler must be included because the punching power, toughness and amount of rough tricks he would take inside the ring would leave most of the other fighters on the list at a lack of answers.

I'm honestly surprised people are picking Pep over Sanchez.

I know I'll get some colorful comments for what I'm about to say, but I think Pep was a bit over-rated.

I think Sanchez woulda sawed right through him.

Yes I understand Pep was amazing, but he would'nt have beat Sanchez. No way no how, Sorry.

I think an Erik Morales in his prime is a top 20 fighter of all time. I can say that I have only seen Salv San one time. so thats why i didnt say him.

Salvador Sanchez, then Willie "The Wisp". I think Sanchez would be too much for the featherfisted Pep, no disrespect.

how can anyone really vote for Pep? the real footage anyone has of him are the Saddler fights, and even if that wasnt his prime, thats the only footage of him we have to go by. and I dont really see how that version of Pep would ever be able to beat Sanchez.

I enjoy these threads. get to dicuss the best at certain weight classes, and even get to learn some new stuff about certain fighters you may not know as well.
