Las Vegas, NV - Boxer and entertainer Floyd Mayweather is giving back to the sport that launched him to superstardom. Mayweather recently announced that he will pay the projected operating budget for the National Golden Gloves Tournament of Champions taking place in his hometown of Grand Rapids, Michigan from May 5 through May 10. The tournament is being hosted by Michigan Golden Gloves, the non-profit organization through which Mayweather took his first steps to launching what is now recognized as one of the most highly decorated careers in the sport of boxing. It's always good to "give back", and Mayweather could have been doing it long ago. Maybe he was and we "missed it"?? Some of these ridiculously "always- needing-to-be-the-centre-of-attention" guys don't like to spoil their images by being generous and sometimes do quiet charity. Not "Fish-Mouth" I'm afraid, but since it would be all eaten up in taxes otherwise, he's doing a good thing, and long may it continue.
I don't know how he keeps going this way. Today he's "ecstatic", yesterday he was "excited", the day before he was "on-a-high", just before that he was "exuberant", and then back to last week when again he was "excited".
I'm afraid the poor guy will wear himself out.
As a match to that, everytime we see something written about Oscar de LaHoya, he's ALWAYS "excited". Well, of course, watching money roll in in huge chunks would excite anyone.....even me.Comment
