    Ricardo Torres-Kendall Holt Rematch - 7/5

It was reported by BoxingScene's Keith Idec in today's Herald News, that Kendall Holt (23-2, 12 KOs) will finally get his chance for revenge when he meets WBO junior welterweight champion Ricardo Torres (32-1, 28 KOs) on July 5 in the main event of Showtime televised card from Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino in Las Vegas. Holt stunk out the joint in his last fight, but he probably deserves another shot at Torres. With the first fight being controversial. Plus Torres usually makes for exciting fights.

Torres makes for a good fight, but Holt doesn't. He's worse to watch than Hopkins or any of the heavyweights today, including Ruiz!

If I never see another Holt fight in my life, I'll be more than happy.

That being said, Torres-Holt was a bit controversial, although I have no problem with the stoppage. I thought Kendall was taking too much punishment and I would've stopped it 2 or 3 seconds before the ref stepped in. He was hurt badly, and no amount of junk thrown in from the crowd caused it.

Kendall a VERY physically gifted fighter...he is quick as ****, he has excellent power-hes got some tools.

        HOWEVER...

Kendall also sports a wickedly weak chin and when he stinks out the joint like he has done on a few occassions since his surpising KO loss a few years back it is because he is trying to hide that chin.

The chin factor will make him inconsistent throughout his career, you will never be able to count on him from one fight to the next because of that chin...(he will look spectacular in one fight and then run around like a ***** in his next fight)

A fighter like Julian Jackson figured what the **** I have superhuman power and a ****ty chin lets put our chips "all in" and see who winds up on their back.

Holt is the opposite and we have seen that in some of his recent fights...BTW not trying to compare the great Julian Jackson with Holt literally.

Holt is no fun to watch, but he's really talented. Torres' camp has been dodging fights left and right, so I guess Holt winning would be the better scenerio anyway.

Although I saw the first fight as a legit KO, and read that the beer can was empty, not full. So that was exagerrated as well.

I didn't see much controversy in the first fight, Holt was gone. It was just a case of him getting caught again. I do think the rematch will settle anything left lingering in the first bout. For that reason, I'm glad a rematch is taking place. If Holt can get his act together, he has a lot of talent and can make a lot of money at 140. He is one of the most naturally talented fighters in the division, but just can't get it together mentally.

Holt held his own but he got clocked at the end. Holt's got a chance, but probably a Torres KO.

That definitely won't happen in Las Vegas.

Holt is a VERY gifted fighter that knows himself that he isn't active enough and doesn't capatilize on some of the openings that he sees. It must be something in his makeup.
