Not sure how much "boxing" actually helped in street fights other than keeping my chin nicely tucked and tighting up my hooks (not throwing them super wide). I trained in boxing gym with friends to stay in shape for wrestling and football.

I actually found wrestling just as if not more useful in a street fight. I did college wrestlign and when the fights got to the grappling part (they almost always did) I would slam them hard or get dominant position on the ground where I could pound on them.

The best thing though was that back in those days my stamina alone would win fights. You'll be surprised how quickly the average joe blows his load. 1-2min and they are usually done.

thats what im sayin. where i came from, going to the ground was considered "***** like" because girls always went to the ground so it wasnt something that happened. whenever anyone squabbed, it was straight up stand up. you could kick a muthu****a if you want while HE was on the ground but no one was rolling on the floor trying to pull of chockes and locks and submissions.

To the guys saying "what are you 12?". Ask yourself if a guy walks up to you in the street, and for no reason punches your damn lights out. What will you do then... just say "oh sorry, I walked in your path buddy, i'll never do that again" NO.. because your initial reaction would be to defend yourself, boxing training or not.

He ran up, I feinted, drew him in, ducked, countered. His knees buckled. Face was priceless, but there was two of them, so no time to finish.

My last fight this little gangster dude and his friend was talking **** to me and my girl. so I went home (it was about 20 seconds away) picked up my brother to make sure it was 1 on 1 and not let the other guy jump in. The guy was talkin all this ****, took his shirt off started yellin and picked his hands up. I feinted a jab, he tried to go and counter and opened himself up, and threw a straight right, right down the middle. Buckled his knees, then I just put angles on him so every time he tried to grab me i was a different spot. I ****ed him up.

After the fight he said he was "TESTING MY HEART" and that "I HAD SOME REAL FIGHT IN ME". He said he wanted to test my heart and see if I was scared, and also to see how I would react to a "REAL G". He offered to take me to his house and smoke weed. I dont smoke, so he tried to give me a hug, and said Im a "REAL NIG_GA" and he forever has respect for me. I told him "**** you punk ass *****, get the **** outta here with your o' ***** ass". Hopped in the car and left.

My story, i was 16 at the time, my now brother in law and i didnt like eachother so we were always talkn **** to eachother or whatever till one day he tried to show up to my house wit his "boys" the funny thing was they went with him because they knew i can fight and they wanted to see me give sum1 a serious beatdown for the first time...and i did..he was talkn yappn talkin yappn till i just let off two quick jabs and a straight right hand followed by a left hook to the jaw that left him inside of a bush he tried to fight back but couldnt he tried to pick me up but i hooked him again then....after it was all done he left with a mouth filled with blood and a red eye..then his mom came to my house complaining, the funny thing was she sent her son to fight but she was mad cuz he didnt beat me....next week in school he said he fell running track/field....two weeks later he squashed it saying he didnt want any problems....after that i never really got into any fights cuz everyone knew i fight..sometimes i fee like just beating the crap outta pple but i control myself cuz im not trying to get locked up or anything cuz the first thing they'll say is..ooh he's a boxer
