The problem with your Chavez -Whitaker theory is that Chavez wasn't much of a defensive fighter compared to Floyd. He took a big beating and that just isn't gonna happen to Floyd.

The best you can hope for is that Cotto makes it to distance and not suffer some embarassing, unexpected, suprising knockout loss like RickY Hatton did.

yea I said it, maybe wishful thinking but Cotto can get better and better by each fight...think about it, Cotto is also a switch hitter, he's adapted to a boxing style when he wants to (good jab too), has an established chin, he may not be a counter-puncher but he makes it up with explosive aggression when one makes a mistake...and thats good enough...
