    Boxing is ****ing brilliant.

Yup. I've always liked the sport but been pretty casual and passive about it generally.

But over the last 8 months or so, I have absolutely fallen in love with the sport. Initially, it was YouTube which allowed me to venture a little deeper than the odd Warren-sponsored showing on ITV. But this site has been magnificent in terms of the videos I have downloaded, and just the general knowledge I have picked up from lurking everyday.

I'm filling in all the gaps, not because I feel out of my depth as a new covert to the sport- but because I have a genuine thirst for it.

I used to be ****ing crazy about football (soccer). But boxing spunks all over it, and then some. The build up to fights are just tremendous- the pre-fight comments from each fighter, the predictions and analysis, those moments as they walk into the ring and you feel that knot of excitement in your stomach.

And the fight themselves are generally fantastic- so much seems to be packed into so little time.

Why am I making this thread? I don't know. I guess I don't want people to have such a perpetual downer about the state of boxing today. **** MMA and all that bollocks. Football can go eat a ****.

Boxing is untouchable as a sport. I've heard that there's been a revival in the popularity of the sport in England- I hope so. I know I've been badgering people I know into investing time into it.

    ****ing good ****, man.

Exactly the same here. I could only really call myself a casual fan, but just like you, a bit of youtube, you see this amazing fights, its ace.

I think more than any other sport it has depth too it. So many possible matchups, no season, nothing really predictable about it, its great!

            WHAT!?!?
            Are you kidding me?!

Were having a fantastic year of boxing! Diaz vs Campbell, Vasquez vs Marquez, Calzaghe vs Hopkins, Casamayor vs Katsidis, Tarver vs Woods, Johnson vs Dawson, Mayweather vs Hatton, Enzo vs Haye, the heavyweight division is still crappy but getting better, Pavlik vs Taylor, Pacquiao vs Marquez, Margarito vs Cotto is on the horizon, Bell vs Adamek, Mosley vs Judah, hell these are just a tiny few fights in the horizon or have happened fairly recently.

and fights lately have been great! I hope all the fighters continue producing great fights!

Yeah I'm the same way, except futbol trumps asll sports. But I grew up in a black/hispanic family that LOVED boxing. My brother is still a tito nuthugger. I wish today we had great fights that would allow for fight parties like they use to have in the 80's and 90's. Sad actually.
