    Cotto-Torres

Just watched Cotto-Torres for the first time online this week. What a great fight. Cotto was staggered badly. Have they ever considered a rematch? If not, why?

When I see that fight I am amazed Cotto is still undefeated.

Cotto and his team steered away from a rematch. They knew that if Torres had more than 2 weeks to prepare for the fight he would knock Cotto out.

Now that Cotto's won good fights at 147 with Zab and Shane people forget about this match but Torres was probably Cotto's most dangerous opponent and his toughest win, just not his biggest win.

Cotto got ****y and you could tell as soon as he dropped Torres. Im pretty sure in a rematch Cotto will outbox him.

That made him get caught with all those shots. Two weeks notice or not, both fighters didn't know they were gonna fight eachother so what can you do?

Torres was active aswell so it makes no sense. A month inbetween fights.

          Great fight though.

Cotto has been carefully managed as we all know.

That fight also made Cotto a better fighter, or at least a more fearful, purposeful, and conservative-when-needed fighter. Miguel keyed on the 'Instant AIDS' method of body punching in large part due to that experience. Combine that with the further pressurized tape job his people do on the gloves before every fight now; and you have a team that leaves nothing to chance.. It has taken a special convergence of circumstances to go from there to here, and the chips have fallen in all the right places for this reality to be possible.

In other words; you aren't the only one, QuCongee.. There are many others.

Should Cotto ever lose there will be minimal fallout. His fanbase has been constructed and will remain intact.

Cotto has done a fantastic job of improving himself, working hard, staying cool, and getting the damn job done.

torres doesn't want a rematch he was acting like he was getting hit with low blows so that the ref would penalize cotto and prevent him from throwing body shots, so you know those body shots hurt.for the holt fight torres trainer couldn't even find him he showed up a couple of weeks before the fight to begin training camp.i don't think torres ever trains as much as most boxers do
