It's funny because I was actually the same way...except Manny wasn't my gateway into the Filipino world. I live on the East Coast, not a whole lot of Pinoys where I'm at at least. I just never really heard anyone refer to themselves as Filipino or have any exposure to the culture at all. I now realize the people I went to school with who looked Asian but had Spanish sounding names (a WTF kind of thing for me) were Filipino. I just assumed they might be Cambodian or Thai since there's a bigger population among those groups where I live.Comment

I am sorry but I really didn't know about filipino people till I seen pacquiao does that make me ignorant?
What I also find strange is how come many people now is saying they have filipino blood? wtf? I saw enrique iglesias interview on spanish tv and he said he is proud to be pinoy and spanish? and that cute girl vannessa hudgens was on tyra banks and said she was filipino, and rob schnieder that comedian also claims to be half filipino.
I saw this on youtube and WWE BATISTA said he is filipino and huge fan of pacman.
is this because of Pacquiao? they trying to ride his fame or what?
goes to show How Big Boxing is basically put the Filipines on the map.Comment
