Jones beat Trinindad with conviction over 8 rounds (I had Trinidad winning the 1st 4), but what did that really prove. Trinidad was at least 1 if not 2 weight classes higher then what he should be fighting at. I thin trinidad is still a good fighter but not at the catchweight he was at. Im a huge Jones fan, but seriously what did he prove and where can he go from here. Woods, Myabe Johnson, Dawson, Markus Beyer (which would be a good scrap i say), or even Antonio Tarver? Yes he put on a great performance, but does he really still have what it takes to be "Great" and a lb4lb fighter? your thoughts....
Where does Jones go from here?

I don't think he will get Calzaghe. He might.
RJJ knows hes not 100%. So i think he will have one more fight then call it quits. -
honestly i think it was roys plan to take it easy for the first 3/4 rounds and then go to work which he did. he has clearly changed his style, going to ropes and countering alot. he still has great hand speed and reflexes. i think calzaghe is his main target as long as he gets through hopkins. woods or tarver is the other option. he will probably take a tune-up in the mean time but i dont think hes finished yetComment

hmm i think he could've taken danny green to school and picked up an easy belt but now greens retired suddenly hes left with less options......maybe clinton woods would be an ok chance.....not an easy fight though at this stage of roys career...dawson might be a bit much for him, although jones is more powerful and both have suspect chins so anything could happen there...i think roy can pick up another major belt and perhaps knock off a few of the weaker champs around the lhw division or even smw if he can get down there, but i dont see him breaking into the top ten p4p again or unifying a divsion at this stage.....Comment

Roy couldn't even knock out a guy who's best days were at 147. Roy is asking to get that china chin shattered if he steps in with someone his own size.Last edited by D_Chosen_1; 03-28-2008, 08:15 PM.Comment
