    Gamboa gets new opponent!

    *********.com

Unbeaten super featherweight sensation Yuriorkis Gamboa (9-0, 8 KOs) will now face Darling Jimenez (23-2-2, 14 KOs) his May 17th HBO debut. Jiminez has won six straight, all by KO. Gamboa was originally slated to face WBO #2 Ranked Marcos Ramirez (25-0, 16 KOs), but Ramirez decided not to take the fight. A 2004 Olympic Gold medal winner for Cuba, Gamboa opened eyes in his U.S. television debut back in February as he brutally knocked out Johnny Edwards in one round on ESPN2 to win the NABF super featherweight title. He has been so impressive that after just nine fights, he is rated WBA #5 and WBC #8 respectively.

Impressive,Gamboa doesnt NEVER fight no weak opponents, this is whats gona make him a champ,Darling last knocked out Mike Anchondo in impressive fashion

Props to Darling Jimenez if he doesn't pull out like the last coward. Good luck to both fighters, and Gamboa is looking real good so Jimenez better bring his A-game.

Probably a smart business move on Ramirez's part. He wasn't getting past Gamboa.

Smart business move but still a coward. You don't sign a contract and pull out, thats what cowards do. If he signs a contract, then he should stick to it should he not? Cowards afraid of losing his 0, thats what it comes down to. Like Marcos go fight some paper weight fighters and duck Gamboa.

Nice Darling is a good opponent for Gamboa. Gamboa and his team seem to be on the fast track to want a title shot soon. Wouldn't be suprised if he got one by the end of the year.

gamboa is already 26... he'll make sure he could still catch up that golden train. If you have a granite chin and hits hard like valero et al. then you'll have no worries figthing him. Gamboa often puts his hands down w/c is not very good.

Wow! This seems like a step up if you ask me! I saw Jiminez knock out Anchondo, it was a real early one too...

                    Gamboa is one impressive fighter!
