It's a sad day in the world when people can't be mature enough to respect other nations anthems. They know who they are and all I can say is that your ****ing pathetic.

I wish Hopkins would have contested this.

**** it, you want to boo our anthem? We knock you out same way we did Hatton. (no disrespect to the over-seas posters here)

Well I think it's the other way round, you Americans are ****ing pathetic.

It's just a football thing (soccer to you aliens)... loosen up.

In Britain, we actually take the piss out of ourselves (if you know what that term means?), it's a national thing to do. Brits don't understand how Yanks take their nation/anthem so seriously or whatever.

I disagree. Basically the message given is "because a small portion of people want to boo the national anthem, well we just won't do it."

Does this not seem right to you?

Believe it or not but soccer is my fav sport, way to assume. Gotta be the **** blood in me. I know that's your thing but I don't understand it and never will. I guess you guys don't care about your anthem b/c it starts off with, "god save the queen" and I'm gonna assume that everyone over there doesn't give a **** about that old lady so why would you praise her? I guess it's weird over there to take pride in one's anthem, I don't know but that's weird to me but what ev, it seems when you guys boo something bad happens. Remember the Croatia game and Hatton, not being a **** but pretty funny.

It's not like they boo the American national anthem because it's the horrible Americans.. They boo everybody's national anthem.

There's a respect problem in that part of the world. It's not everyone, but it's number too large.
