Best Welterweight Trio: Our Era vs. 80's Era

If they were on teams... which team would win?

You can match them up anyway you want...
but they can only fight once, each...

    Team 1

    Sugar Ray Leonard
    Roberto Duran
    Tommy Hearns

    Team 2

    Floyd Mayweather Jr.
    Miguel Cotto
Margarito, Williams, or Mosley (pick anyone for the 3rd fighter - This Era Only... or another of the top 10 you like)

**Note: Doesn't have to be 2008 our era... For example: You could use the 2001 version of 147 Shane Mosley.. thats still out era...**
    46
    TEAM 1: Leonard, Hearns, Duran
    84.78%
    39
TEAM 2: Mayweather Jr., Cotto, (Mosley, Williams, Margarito)
    10.87%
    5
    DRAW
    4.35%
    2

SRL vs. PBF -- SRL 15 round SD
Duran vs. Cotto -- Duran TKO w/in 4
Hearns vs. Mosley -- Hearns 15 round UD

I think PBF is the only one that can beat any of the 80' welters, I'd take him over Duran and Hearns, but SRL is a legend.

I think you would have had a closer poll matching the welters from now against the ones from the 90's (DLH, Quartey, Trinidad, Whitaker, etc.).

Whats interesting is... I bet if your life depended on matching up the fighters from our era to theirs.... Anyone on this forum, even the Floyd haters and cotto lovers.. would all look at the opposite teams, toughest opponent... and they would put Floyd up against them.

But trinidad and ODH are still in our era... to an extent... I suppose it depends on your definition of an "era"

I agree, the 90's welterweight would match up better, apart from Mayweather.

I see your point. It's just that Leonard, Duran, and Hearns would be unanimous against any other era.
