The Smaller Divisions Keep Boxing Alive While the Bigger Divisions Keep Killing It

Just continue to **** up the momentum. We have some great and exciting fighters in the Lightweight division and below that continue to put their careers on the line to provide some of the best fights we've seen in recent years. These guys CONTINUE to put on some great bouts displaying some of the best technical ability and most brutal agressiveness you'll find in Boxing.

And then we have the pre madonnas in the Welter Division and up agreeing to and pulling out of fights, talking **** about other fighters and not doing anything or backing up what they say. Fighters doing everything they can to milk the sport of any dignity it might have only for THEIR benefit producing more flash than asctual quality and substance. All these ******* claiming to be the best, claiming to destroy everyone but they dont step up to the plate and do it and its hurting boxing. Im sick of that ****.

Atleast we have Edison Miranda practically BEGGING for anyone of ANY worth to step in the ring with him and win or lose, i will STILL be a fan of his. Atleast Cotto is risking his record against a VERY dangerous Margarito who's style could present immense problems to Miguel which I think he needs to win in good ol fashion Cotto style to make his point. Cintron may have avoided Paul Williams but he's fighting the same fighter who put his as on the canvas in DEVISTATING fashion which I personally view more ballsy than a decision loss to Williams.

Now, you can tell me all you want that Boxing is a "business" and that these fighters are getting their paper and I'm just a "hater" and I can tell you to go **** yourself with both ends of a rusty 200 year old pick axe. When do we say that enough is enough? When Boxing becomes ONLY about money, the QUALITY is no longer there. How the **** CAN YOU BE A FAN OF MEDIOCRE FIGHTS?!?! How can you call yourself a fan and be "ok" or "alright" with a fighter taking a lesser fight as long as what happens outside of the ring is "exciting"?

    This is getting ree****yalus.

Well, at middleweight, we've recently had two exciting fights between Kelly Pavlik and Jermain Taylor, a surprisingly exciting fight with John Duddy, and a thrilling upset over Andy Lee. The number one and number two supermiddleweights (Calzaghe/Kessler) recently fought one another in a very good fight. Kessler and Miranda were supposed to fight, who knows what will happen there. P4P-ers Calzaghe and Hopkins are going at it in a fight that, while maybe not particularly thrilling, per say, will have some drama and appeal to boxing fans. The number one and number two cruiserweights just fought one another to a knockout ending, and that number one cruiserweight is moving up to fight the heavweights, a division that has been low on excitment lately (but not completely devoid - Povetkin/Chambers and Peter/Maskaev were pretty decent fights) but, nevertheless, intent on unifying its belts.

The lower weight classes are almost always more exciting, but the heavier guys aren't doing too badly...

Boxing is in great shape below 175. Light Heavyweight is awful eventhough Hopkins and Calzaghe are fighting there for a one time thing. The Heavyweight division has some talent, but all the fights are excruciating. Cruiserweight is just there, and even though some like me love it, most couldnt care less.

along those same lines let me tell you, you got to feel sorry for the euros across the pond. they have to deal with so many imaginary good fights . look at the upcoming abraham/ayala. again abraham treating the german fans with another snoozer against a second tier ayala, who's claim to fame is beating another second tier in s.mora. and who's lost twice to david banks!!. and then
to ****e up the undercard theve added a washed up mads larsen.

and then in july its been anounced that since wklitschko was laughed
at all the way back to germany after another lackey performance against
ibragimov, is now going to fight tony thompson, a fighter that in any other era would be considered third tier. klitschko goes back to germany with his tail between his legs and gets his ass kissed with a confidence builder against tony tiger. oh boy!
evidently germans get thrills out of watching such poor matchups.

and its not just them. i mean on this site there are posters like ironside who admits he's not into the little big men just the hvys.

the bar has been lowered by these hvwt clowns.

Nothing spells EXCITEMENT and DRAMA more than two lower division True Mexican Warriors going at it toe-to-toe.
