Hatton - 'If Witter was fighting in my back yard, I'd close the curtains'

BBC, Sport, BBC Sport, bbc.co.uk, world, uk, international, foreign, british, online, service

amidst more talk of Hatton-Mayweather II

you can't blame Hatton for wanting the rematch in front of a huge crowd at Wembley, but he should have to earn it by beating Malignaggi and Witter. Floyd should deal with Cotto first aswell.

I don't even rule out De La Hoya wanting a slice of this action and saying he'll fight Hatton in the UK.

If you have ever seen a Witter fight you would agree with Hatton.
The guy (Witter) switch hits without any real impact and falls asleep after 5-6 rounds if he isn't fighting a guy who wants to play lay down for Junior.

It's not about that though, it's about fighting the best. I don't blame Hatton for going for a rematch, but he shouldn't be getting the opportunity until he's proved again hes best at 140.

Mayweather vs Witter @ 140 would be very close.

I quite like watching Witter fight myself. I like his style.

Hatton lost at 147 and prior to that 1 fight was Top dog at 140.
What does he need to prove?
That he can defeat a guy with no-one on his resume like Witter?
              Who has Witter beaten?
And have you seen his fights?
Especially Colin Lynes and Kotelnik who are at most Euro level.
No offence but Witter should have concentratd on his own carrer rather than stalking Hatton like a bum wanting change.
Hatton went to the USA while Witter fought D-level opposition and gaining his "KO Streak".
Tyrone Brunson has a KO streak for **** sake.

I don't think you can label Vivian Harris a 'bum' or 'D-level opponent'. Lazcano maybe you could. I've seen most of Witter's recent fights and I used not to think this way, but for me his performance against Harris gives legitimacy to him calling out Hatton.

I couldn't agree more, i'm not sure how so many people have jumped on this witter bandwagon. That the hatton - witter fight must happen! I just want it to happen so people will shut up.
