Grinberg hints Ibragimov may dump Mayweather

In an interview today, manager Boris Grinberg said Sultan Ibragimov will return with a fight in late June or July.

He said he was not happy with the job by trainer Jeff Mayweather during the Klitschko fight, and that Panama Lewis could have guided Ibragimov to victory.

i thought Mayweather was really maximizing SI's potential. He's got the right tools to fight a Mayweather style

There isn't a trainer in the world that could guide Ibragimov to a victory.

Ibragimov really had gotten the best possible result out of that fight. He really fought the perfect fight(for his own ability)

No trainer in the world could've helped Iggy beat Wlad that night. Mayweather helped him become a much more polished boxer, Iggy should keep him.

he SHOULD dump mayweather, the coward who forced Ibragimov to run from holyfield for 12 rounds. What a disgrace.

i think he fought that way out of respect for the legend that holyfield is
we all know if ibrahimov wanted he coulda knock out holyfield into retirement or possibly cause him serious injuries

Yes, even when he had Holyfield hurt - I remember it was the 8th or 9th round - Mayweather told Sultan to pull back! At one point he had Briggs hurt too, but backed off. Sure, he improved Sultan's defense, but there's a time when a fighter should launch a sustained attack and go for the kill.

I agree with everyone who said there wasn’t anything he could have done to win that fight. His choices were try to get a jab in and get out of the way while cruising to a UD loss, or press the action and get knocked out.
