Valero licensed in Texas!
WBA 130lb champion approved for U.S. fight
Teiken Promotions has announced that WBA super featherweight champion Edwin Valero's application for a boxing license in the State of Texas has been approved by the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation, the state agency governing boxing. Valero, who holds a perfect 23-0 (23 KOs) record, including 19 first-round KOs, has taken all of the medical tests required by Department of Licensing and Regulation and has been licensed to fight in the state. After being notified of his approval, Valero commented, “I am very pleased to know that Texas has approved my license. It has been four years since I have boxed in the United States. I am back! I will deliver my best performance ever when I fight in Texas. Thank you to the officials who made this possible and to all the fans who have supported me; I will make you proud.” The 26-year-old southpaw is currently training in Las Vegas with noted veteran boxing coach Kenny Adams in preparation for his next fight against number-one contender Israel Perez of Argentina, on June 12th in Tokyo, Japan. After this mandatory title defense, Valero says he hopes to fight in Texas sometime this September.Comment

Good for us Tejanos. I am hoping they bring a big fight to Houston for a change. Also with Golden Boy being part owners of the Dynamo, maybe they can get involved with promoting Valero and bring him to Houston : )Comment
