I met him outside restaurant in Brooklyn. He was really cool & signed an autograph for me. He damn near crushed my hand when we shook hands though.

The one where he fell asleep watching Spinks/Karmazin and was awoken by a women he thought was his girlfriend. Only thing is.

                "That aint Rita!"

Not boxing related, but I enjoyed that story.

One about pranking James Toney was good too.

Antonio LOL That definitely wasn't my wife..that was a total stranger on drugs who busted right into my house while I was sleeping in the living room (during Spinks-Karmazin). That was CRAZY...it was pitch black...I came very close to smashing her.....then the cops busted in...I am going to find that and post it again LOLOL

                    HERE IT IS

July 8, 2006: Crazy night tonight!

Picture this: I am sitting in a chair near the front door of the house I grew up in watching Corey Spinks-Roman Karmazin on HBO with my father, who is laying a few feet away from me on the couch in the living room. So it is getting later and as the fight wears on we both eventually fall asleep somewhere during the second half of the fight. We are the only two home at the time and because I know I will be heading out afterwards I keep the font door unlocked. You have a mental picture in your mind of what's happening? OK....

All of a sudden I find myself literally jumping out of my chair in shock/surprise/fear as there is something going on inside the house!! It takes me some time to really grasp what is actually going on and it is instincts that carry me through the next few minutes. My father jumps up, too, although I am only hearing him and not looking at him because I am more concerned with the grunting, mumbling figure who has just barged into the house and is coming straight for me. Only my reaction of yelling (who knows what I said) turns the person away from me into the kitchen area. Before I can chase the person down, though, I somehow (even though I have only been awake for about ten seconds at this point) realize that I need to quickly head to the front door to stop the several guys (it sounded like) who are trying to barge their way into the house after the person who is already in!!

I remember hurling myself against the front door with all my strength, screaming the whole time,"What do you want?!?" I am digging into the floor with my feet as best I can as I push against these guys in sort of a reverse tug of war. They are trying to come in, I am not trying to let them. All I can think is that the person who is already in the house is being chased down by these guys on the other side of the door and once they get in they are going to wreak some serious havoc on everybody in the house. I push and I push, yelling the whole time, literally thinking I am fighting for my life. It's crazy how quickly so many different thoughts come rushing to your mind is such intense situations like this. I wondered how many of them their were out there and what sort of weapons they carried with them and what exactly their intentions were. I knew I wasn't going to like any of the answers so I had it all planned out that if and when they got through that door I would smash them one by one with the best right hands I could muster under the circumstances.

Amazingly to me, though, I win the tug of war and the door slams shut. No time to rejoice though because...whose in the house with me and my father? Whoever it is they have apparently found no way out the back door and are rushing back by me as they head downstairs into our den and, presumably, out the side door. I am convinced in those moments that this person wants to escape the people at the front door more than they want to harm me but because I am still not completely awake yet I cannot be sure. Only the sound of things being knocked over in my trophy room (the den) gets me down there to check things out. It was probably only seconds, really, but it seemed like it took me several minutes to finally flip the light on down there. I hear this person manically grunting/mumbling behind me and I know they are heading back towards me in search of the door and I also know that once I get this light on I know everything is about to be right out in the open and it may or may not be cause for an all out battle right there in that room. I am scared in a way because I realize this could be any one of a dozen situations I am in here at this moment and if it is this person or me I know I am going to have to do everything in my power to make sure it is them.

So I flick the light on spin around as fast as I can with my hands up (like the bell just rang to start a fast paced round) just in time to see this girl, maybe nineteen years old, rushing towards me with eyes that are as wild looking as any opponent I have ever faced in a 20X20. Here she comes, straight at me, with something in her hand, a picture frame I think, that it appears she plans to use as a weapon against me. My mind skips quickly to a scenario where defend myself to the best of my ability and I even picture myself doing do so before, amazingly, my boxing instincts really took me over (it's kind of funny, actually) and just as she got to within a foot of me I pulled out one of my all time favorite boxing moves, a defensive maneuver that got me out of quite a few tough spots in the boxing ring over the years.

Just as she reaches me I step to my left and grab her right elbow as I go by her and before I come to a full stop even I have turned her body towards the stair case leading upstairs and pushed her from behind with both hands towards the steps.

And what brought me to give her the spin and push instead of something more physically damaging?? Well, just a couple seconds before she actually got to me I heard the front door upstairs come crashing open again and this time there seem to be several males who have now entered the house and are on their way to us. At least one of them is yelling, "We're in!! We're in the house!!"

The mind is an amazing feature, man. When I heard that my instincts instantly told me that these guys wanted her and not me and I didn't even want them to see me seeing them and their faces. I figured let me maneuver her up towards them and maybe they will take her and be in their way. It seems like my only shot, right??

Well, it worked! Almost as quickly as they were in they were back out into the front yard. There's a bunch of them now. I see lights from their cars in my front yard. It is their lack of subtleness as well as the uniform of the one who remained in the house with my father and I that forced me to wake up and realize that these guys were the local police!! Talk about relief!!! I don't think I have ever been happier to see a police officer in my house than I was tonight.

Turns out that the girl was at a house with some guys earlier that night and they somehow slipped her some drugs, exstacy, I think it was, and she flipped out to the point where she left the house and ended up wandering more than a mile over to my neighborhood where she was spotted trying to force her way into at least one other house up the block. When the police showed up on my street they literally ran across her sitting on my front porch in a daze and when they approached her she got startled and turned and ran to the one escape route she had, that being my father's front door.

After the police took her away my father and I sat back down to catch the final two rounds of Spinks-Karmazin there were three thoughts that kept popping into my head.

First is that I was so glad that I reacted the way I did and not violently like you would assume I or anyone might if some unknown intruder busted into the house like that. That girl was very lucky I didn't overreact tonight. Two is that it is a lesson learned again. You just never know. No matter what, keep your doors locked at all times.

NOTE...Turns out she was high on ecstacy....some guys were planning to sexually assault her I think...someone came home and it scared her, she ran out into the night and ended up a mile and a half away on my front porch..when the police rolled up she turned and bolted right into the house!
