Some guys just look older for their age. However, if anyone in boxing would actually be older than everyone thinks, it would be Peter. He even has the stamina as an older man. He should be ashamed if he really is 27 years old. That or go get your butt in shape for these fights. lol

Thats possible. People in those African countries don't keep birth records so when they come here they have to guess their age or judge their age by the look of their bones. Same situation as Freddy Adu when everyone said he was 16 years old...more like 18-20.

I have hear a lot of people say peter is older than what he says, I think he is in his 30's for sure

It's no suprise if he's lying about his age, it's common with Nigerians.

Boxrec and other records list his age as 27. I interviewed Shannon Briggs this morning, here's what he had to say.



Wikipedia explains Peter's early 90s boxing activity.
"In 1992, some boxers came to Peter's school to train. The curious young 11-year-old stopped by and asked if he could train along with them. He was put up against an experienced amateur and knocked him out. This marked the beginning of a successful amateur career for Peter."

I agree, Peter looks a little older than 27, but it could be the way he grew up or just him being so big. You be the judge.

but its hard to tell the trueth.
i'd guess leaning towards mid thirtys.

Ike looked a bit older than he was supposed to be also. A much better fighter than Peter though.

Sam appears to be in his early 30s, but because he's a Christian, he would probably not lie about his age.

Then again, Ike Ibeabuchi said he was a Christian too.

Peter is definitely not 27, I don't he's as old as Briggs makes him out to be, but I think he's around 33 or 34.
