The answer is pretty obvious I would have thought - he just didn't have the hunger. It was quite apparent he wasn't the same boxer in the Barrera fight. Perhaps he started thinking he was untouchable or something, then when reality set in against Barrera, he just didn't want to know. He may have been beaten, but it wasn't him at his best. I think some people are unfair to him in that respect, perhaps out of hatred.
The guy was one hell of a fighter like him or loathe him.
He had plenty of hunger. Just for cheeseburgers, not boxing.
