    NEW please go easy

    Hello,

New here, got fed up of the BBC posts so decided to give here a go.

Not an expert in boxing by any means but i have been round a few fighters.

I know this is probably being debated elsewhere but i wondered two things currently.
Is it at all possible, im currently unsure of potential weight wise as well, Mitchell and Khan will fight anytime soon? Or will Warren see to that?

Secondly J. Calzaghe vs Hopkins. Id like Joe to win for personal reaons.
My opinon however is Joe is the better boxer allround, yet i cant remember the last time he genuinely stopped someone, i think he perhaps lacks this power even when he dominated Lacy at no point did i think Lacy would go down.
So does this mean it will go the distance, if so i think it leaves this very open.... I also worry about Joe being too keen. Id personally liek to see him talk far less.
And finally i would like to say i simply dont buy into how the camp is affected by losses Rees Mac etc.

Welcome! Word to the wise; this place is like anywhere. Lots of intelligent boxing fans, even more ignorant, abusive fools that will flame you if you disagree. Fans get hurt when their fighter is insulted and objective isn't a trait many possess.

As for the Calzaghe angle- I believe it'll go the distance. Bernard is crafty, has a good chin, and is the larger man. He won't get put down unless he looks like a grandfather and Calzaghe can tee off on him all night. I frankly see Bernard being too damn old. He's not active enough. He'll try and bully Joe, he'll lean in with the head, use his elbows, nail him low- he'll make it a rough one...but based on sheer work rate alone Calzaghe seems destined to get a decision in my book.

I think the fight is intriguing just because so many still see Bernard Hopkins as having had the superior career, and at his peak the better skills - Calzaghe is respected but most don't see Lacy or Kessler as true proof of the type of merit Bernard brings into the ring. Most Americans know more of Hopkins, have watched him for years, and I think give him a benefit of being the older, more skilled fighter who simply has less in the tank and is going against a tough, skillful boxer in Calzaghe.

Until my recent find of Sopcast with help of this forum I've been admittedly unable to watch many UK fighters. I've seen clips and a fight or two of Khan...but not much more. In general, I'd say I'm too ignorant to bet points on most British or European fighters.

which mitchell fights did you go and see.

I don't know how likely it will be that warren would take the risk of khan getting beaten, which is a clear possibility.

It seems amongst most boxing fans (who really follow the sport rather than just itv coverage) think Mitchell would have a pretty strong chance of stopping khan.

Mitchel is big Super featherweight who wants to move up to Lightweight after he fights Alex Arthur (if it comes off) while Khan is a huge Lightweight and wants to move up to Light Welter.

I don't see this fight coming off any time soon.

a little bit more exposure for mitchell and it could become a possibility though.

warren is well aware of the money in 'domestic dust ups', and would be in a complete win-win situation in terms of future revenue for the winner.
