Well, it's interesting, but obviously Watson wouldn't have fought like that against Benn! So if Watson came out like Linford Christie, as he did in his second Eubank fight, Benn would have found the punches to knock him over soon enough, because he was a much more natural puncher than Eubank.

I honestly think Watson would have always beaten Nigel Benn (unless he came out like Linford Christie, ofcourse), I just think he had his number, measuring him and arrowing in like he did, I just kind of can't visualise Benn ever beating Watson.

Benn did have terrific lateral upper body movement under Tibbs, but really wasn't quite as dynamic as he was at middleweight, and still was prone to losing concentation here and there or being clumsy here and there.

The Watson who fought Eubank the second time, the way he was letting his punches go and the strength he showed inside, and how sharp he was throughout, better than the Benn who fought Eubank the second time, yes, definitely, way. Eubank was very cumbersome that cold night at Old Trafford, no balance and all his punches slaps, looked about 14 stone, so Benn just out-hustled him inside.

At life, McCellan gets nothing from me.

At boxing, he was a God.

Eubank should have beaten Collins twice, either way Eubank was never dominated in any fight, it was close against Benn, Watson, and without his eye problems he was beating Carl Thompson. The only fighter who made Eubank look second best by a large margin was Calzaghe.

Can't go along with that. It wasn't close against Watson (rematch) or Schommer. Watson sweeped the first 10 rounds clearly, and even Barry Hearn thinks that Schommer won "by six or seven rounds".

The Eubank against Calzaghe fight was close and competitive, and very scrappy, with Calzaghe looking near-dead at the post-fight presser and Eubank looking fresh as a daisy.

Calzaghe v Eubank was competitive in the sense that Eubank was''nt going nowhere but he was being outboxed & outworked in most of the rounds it was'nt really a close fight, we all knew who had won as did Eubank thats why he had his hand on Calzaghes shoulder as if to say you've got this cause he knews he had lost the fight

he also lost to Collins both times the 1st fight was closer though but Eubank telling the people at Ringside " ive got a draw" tells u all u need to know about wether Collins beat him or not

Calzaghe looked no better against Eubank than Gary Stretch and Dan Schommer, barring the shuffles, big lefts and flash hands, they (Stretch and Schommer) out-boxed him easily because he couldn't deal with the southpaw stance

Every round of the Eubank and Calzaghe fight was scrappy and competitive, whereas Watson basically won nearly every 30-second segment - that's what I mean by 'sweeped'! I'm sure Eubank was shocked that one judge had it 8-4! He was only trying to soften Calzaghe up for a late surge, that's what he says, and still thought he was going to win the fight - but Calzaghe stood up to the late surge

Eubank lost 11 out of 12 rounds in the Collins rematch - I forgot that! Thanks for reminding me. He looked awful that night and could barely throw a punch. It wasn't the least bit close, Collins was winning everything

He clearly won the first Collins match, which he thinks too. He was telling everyone it was a draw, including shouting it at the crowd, because he didn't want a riot if he got the decision (ie Hagler-Minter, Eubank-Watson 1). Using psychology to tame their expectations

Benn is also the second greatest British boxer behind Hamed.

Well you confirmed that you meant those karma messages you send to some guy a while ago. You're pathetic.

Anyway, McClellan was not overrated or a 'bum'. If he was, then what does that make Nigel Benn for beating him?

See, I love the enthusiastic british boxing fans, but I really don't know why you guys always trash an american fighter's career when your own fighter is gonna fight, or has fought that opponent. It only discredits both fighter's legacy's.
