I posted this because I dont understand how there is all this hype about pacquiao being a mexican assassin. Pacs boxing record states that he has beaten 20 filipino fighters as opposed to 9 mexican boxers. Why not name him the filipino assassin if he has beaten more than twice the amount of filipinos as he has beaten mexicans? If some arguments might be that those filipino fighters he beat do not count as they are crap, well then should his ring entrance record be (W 26-L 3)?
pacman a filipino killer?

Obviously it is because the Mexicans he beat were considered ATGs and the Pinoys he beat are probably homeless.I posted this because I dont understand how there is all this hype about pacquiao being a mexican assassin. Hmmm yes that is true. But that is not fair to other fighters from different countries as they cannot claim to be a filipino assassin because there are not enough top of the line filipino boxers for them to challenge. Oh well.Comment

Is anyone else here besides me aware that Daniel Ponce deLeon has been for about a year and a half now monickered the "filipino assasin" in response to Pacquiao being the "mexican assasin"?? half of Ponce's record is racked up against "old and washed up" filipino former wold champs and rookie filipino prospects stepping up their competition for the 1st time. Mirroring Pacquiao's achievements so much so that Ponce even won a controversial split decision over a counterpunching Gerry Penalosa who pretty much boxed Ponce's socks off but was given the nod based on hard, clean effective punching even though press row had the fight for Penalosa. Check him out and see how ironic this really is.Comment

"old and washed up" has certainly been applied to the names Barrera and Morales every time Pacquiao beat them, all except for after the first Barrera fight. Also, the whole getting his socks boxed off thing seems to apply to Marquez for both fights.
I'm just saying that all the **** you are using to detract from Ponce De Leon is the exact same **** that people use to detract from Pacquiao.
That being said, Ponce De Leon will never be in Pacquiao's class of fighter.Comment

Yes that was exactly my point the whole time so thank you for pointing that out. this whole (insert heritage here) assassin business is ridiculous. But i gotta admit has been a pretty effective propaganda tool to spark some life back into boxing."old and washed up" has certainly been applied to the names Barrera and Morales every time Pacquiao beat them, all except for after the first Barrera fight.

The assassin idea may be smart, but it is nothing compared to the most feared man in boxing.
None of this **** is cool at all. I wish promoters would wake up and realize that the only thing that is going to bring boxing back to the forefront of all other sports is Tye Fields.Comment
