What a great fighter he was in his prime. He is the only guy who can legitimately claim he beat Joel Casamayor. He had a great fighting style and is a future Hall of Famer.

Joel Casamayor, Diego Corrales, Juan Lazcano, Stevie Johnston, Jorge Paez, Julio Diaz, Cesar Bezan are good names to have in your resume.

I felt sorry for him when I heard he got nothing for the Ricky Hatton fight, he was fighting for nothing basicly.

While out of his prime he also beat Ngoudjo who isn't anything great but a tough fighter who IMO beat Malignaggi. His fight of the year with Corrales was great, and the Upset of the year with Stevie Johnston was good too and he beat Lazcano and Johnston at their actual weightclasses while they were in their Primes.

He also gave the P4P Champion his toughest fight whether he wants to admit it or not (The first one). Its a bit sad though what happened to him after all the great fights he has given us, the guy has no money, makes me sad...I hope he gets one last pay day.

I had the Casa fight as a stright-up draw, actually... It was so damn close, though. I couldn't argue with the SD for JLC. He was such a determined fighter. I hope history gives him his due.. And I'm sure it will with his first fight with Chico. That alone will leave him remembered.

I don't think he ever made million dollar purses or anything like that. And then he had his weight difficulties which resulted in fines, sanctioning fees, managerial fees, trainer fees etc. plus the cost of living, feeding the kids and so on.

Chico sued him for a lot of money when he couldn't make weight. Corrales was a hypocrite because he also didn't make weight for one of his fights but no one sued him.
