No, there were several better fights - Vasquez vs. Marquez III, and Pacquiao vs. Marquez II for example. Casamayor was holding too much, and resorting to dirty tactics like low blows.

This one was more dramatic. but the other two fights had better skilled fighters. the skill in this fight was mostly from casa, in the other two match ups the skills arnt that big of a diffrence like they were 2night

its def. a candidate (along with many already this year, only 3 months in!) but there's alot of 2008 left and the excitement from just seeing this one a few minutes ago might be aiding in a bit of bias towards proclaiming this fight as FOTY already... still a great night of fights

Good fight, but it is not a Vasquez Marquez III type fight.

Vasquez Marquez III slots in at #2 on my ATG fight list, right behind Corralles-Castillo I

they both were good fights, but the one with better skills takes the cake. This fight was very good, but there was a good amount of holding, that dulled it in rounds, if kat had better skills he would of been able to do some work when casa clinched, the fact that casa was allowed to clinch do to kats lack of skill says that the other 2 fights that were even match ups and no clinches were better fights.

I also don't see how anyone can say this fight was more dramatic than Vasquez Marquez III.

Honestly, what is more dramatic than Iggy scoring a knockdown with 12 seconds left in round 12 to earn a split-decision win?

Iggy getting dropped, only to get up and rock a pressing Marquez hard, only for Marquez to really back and rock Iggy again.

Not only was Vasquez Marquez III foty (Yes, I have already given it that honor, as nothing can touch it.) It was perhaps the best technical match-up as well as the most meaningful fight of the year.

OK I understand what you mean now. I wasn't sure what you meant in your post earlier. I think this is a candidate for fight of the year.

                      1. Vasquez/Marquez III
                      2. Casamayor/Katsidis
                      3. Marquez/Pacquiao II
