If the fight happens at 140-147 this would be interesting. I think the pacman can handle this no problem as long as he still has the devastating power w/ him. Though oscar is taller but the guy likes to engage toe2toe in w/c the pacman would love to. oscar has the edge on this one.
Pacquiao vs DeLaHoya for November, and Pacman will train at the End of April...

This fight is ******ed no matter how you slice it. That would be vladimir klitschko wanting to fight bernard hopkins as his last fight. There just too many intangibles and escape holes that neither guy would benefit from a win. Oscar would never make the 135 limit so if Pacquiao wins Oscar can chock it up to fatigue from making weight. If Oscar wins at either 135 or 140. People will write it off as an insignificant win against someone who started off his career 106lbs. and simply had too many physical advantages over. If Pac wins at 140lb it will be criticized again as another controversial win against another "over the hill" mexican great that should have retired 3-4 years ago. Except for the obviously insane amounts of money involved with this bout i dont see point in this fight at all. I would much rather see Pac challenge for the undisputed lightweight championship against campbell at year's end. This fight would have HUGE implications not only on the division but also on Pac's status as an all time great because winning would make him the only 4 division linear champion in boxing history. Putting him in a class all to himself and about 95% certain will cement him above mayweather on the p4p list as the greatest p4p boxer today.Comment

Coming from I have to take that statement VERY seriously. This fight is strictly a money fight and for DLH to go out on a high not against a high profile opponent. Actually, now that I think about it Pac is the perfect opponent for Oscar to fight last. A ****load of money, p4p number 2 in the world, AND he is definitely going to win.Comment

for now all these rumours are speculations, i wouldnt believe it unless i saw it on the contract, and confirmed by both fighters.
this fight is intriguing. and the intrigue surrounds pacman, not de la hoya. the disparity in size, and how pacman will overcome it is interesting in itself. people will pay to see this fight, but they'll be paying to see pacman fight at 147 or whatever catchweight they'll agree to. seing that those extra pounds will do to one of the most dynamic fighters in boxing today.
i dont see this as an impossible task. shane mosely moved from lightweight straight into welterweight. but pacman is a different fighter than mosely, and aside from that he's never fought at lightweight yet. but it's NOT IMPOSSIBLE. for millions of dollars you'd force yourself to do things that you thought you could never do before. that green power pumps the blood back into the veins.
but oscar's been sayin how he wants to be in the war, with the most dangerous guy out there. pacman only proved to be dangerous at feather and suprefeather weight classes. i doubt he'll be as close to what he was at such a high weight.
but like any average fan out there, id expect oscar to regain his senses and sign to fight cotto. but i doubt it will happen.Comment
