Gavin Rees vs Andreas Kotelnik ***OFFICIAL THREAD***

    WBA Light Welterweight fight.

Gavin Rees (C) 27-0 vs Andreas Kotelnik 28-2-1

    Winner: Andreas Kotelnik TKO12

    ROUND BY ROUND

[ROUND 1] Rees came out of the traps quickly and used his jab really effectively. Some good work inside from Rees too, working well to the body. Kotelnik hasn't opened up much yet.

    10-9 Rees

[ROUND 2] Another good round for Rees, he seems to be a lot quicker than Kotelnik from the outside and inside, working his body shots well. Kotelnik opened up a bit more but he was still holding back.

    10-9 Rees

[ROUND 3] Kotelnik finally opens up and tags Rees quite a bit. Rees' hands are quite low and his head is stationary. Rees took some flush shots.

    10-9 Kotelnik

[ROUND 4] Rees won this round with work rate imo. Although alot of punches were blocked he did enough to win.

    10-9 Rees

[ROUND 5] Kotelnik round for me. He blocked a lot of Rees' shots and landed a few flush shots on Rees.

    10-9 Kotelnik

[ROUND 6] Kotelnik has opened up Rees really well now and is landing shots flush at will. Rees is bleeding from the nose. I think the challenger is going to win this now.

    10-9 Kotelnik

[ROUND 7] Rees started well put Kotelnik came on strong at the end. Joe Calzaghe is getting very anxieous. Close round to call but I'd give it to the champion.

    10-9 Rees

[ROUND 8] Rees is tiring now and got hurt bad by a bodyshot. Kotelnik wins this round.

    10-9 Kotelnik

[ROUND 9] Similar pattern to the last rounds, Rees punches more but Kotelnik lands cleaner. Some hard rounds to score.

    10-9 Kotelnik

[ROUND 10] I think Kotelnik won this round and now has a working margain on the score cards.

    10-9 Kotelnik

[ROUND 11] Although the fight is getting away from Rees he is showing a huge heart. He is clearly not on the world level but he is pushing the fight.

    10-9 Rees

[ROUND 12] Kotelnik stopped Rees with a big left hook.

WINNER and the new WBA Light Welterweight champion Andreas Kotelnik!

Rees enters the ring to charva beats, it suits him very well. Little scally.

First round to Rees. Kotelnik wasn't doing much.

Good fight so far! Rees is very aggressive but Kotelnik did land a couple of good shots.

          20-18 Rees.

Kotelniks round, he landed the better shots while Rees just kept hitting his arms.

Kotelnik wins the third - landed a lot of good head shots.

              29-28 Rees.

Rees has fast hands and throws combos to the body and the head. He keeps himself open though. His punches don't pack too much power, but I think he's winning the fight so far because he's just outworking Kotelnik.

Round 4 to Kotelnik, he lands the better shots again and blocks something like 90% of Rees's shots.
