Would destroy Rees, Witter and anyone else at 140. Yeah, he got beat down by a better fighter in Mayweather I accept, but the guy is still an amazing fighter.

I agree, but sadly getting beat by the best fighter in the world makes you a bum these days

Debatable. Personally i think Witter has the style to seriously threaten Hatton, if not beat him. He's a hard hitter with good lateral movement and a slick defence.
Hatton was humuliated by Mayweather....that was one of the most embarrasing KO's I have ever seen...Hatton was never meant to be a 147 pounder, he is too small for that weight class, he was exposed at Welterweight by Collazo and Mayweather finished the job and sent him back to 140 where he belongs.
With that being said, Hatton is the king at 140, he just needs to stay away from 147 or he will get embarrased again.

I think people seriously underestimate Hattons movement though. The guy has remarkable footwork, and due to his style that gets forgotten. You can roughouse AND be technically sound, and I believe Ricky displays that.
As you say Witter may well trouble him, but in all honesty, I just see Ricky as a different class to him. I can't recall Witter being in with anyone as relentless and pressurising, and until I do, I have to doubt his ability to test Hatton.

I agree with you 100%.
However, I don't blame him for taking the PBF fight, at least he is a warrior.

Maybe they do underestimate his movement, i don't however, he is very quick on his fight as he showed in the first few rounds against Floyd.
I could use they same argument against Hatton that you have used there, bar Floyd when has Hatton been in with anyone as slick defensively as Witter? I see both guys as being in the same league and i see Hattons relentlessness working in Witters favour to any extent. Witter likes to counter punch and when his opponent is sitting back he tends to get complacent and just ends up posing, Hatton will force him to fight though and i think this may bring out the best in him.
