You obviously have no love for Cotto, which is cool , everyone has their faves. Cotto is top 10 or top 5 , until Mayweather is toppled he stays at 1. After that the rest of the fighters can be interchanged based on opinion.

Tito trinidad anoth PR fighter was recognized by pundits and fans but he did not recive the fame and wide appeal until he fought Oscar. Tito was a rock at WW but was mostly ignored . Cotto is now in the same position as Trinidad was, beating everyone and looking for that one fight that will make him a superstar. Trinidad had Oscar and Cotto should have his Floyd.

I agree REE****LAUSS. Cotto has problems with fighters that are straight with their power and Margarito is an accurate, hard straight come foward fighter that would be first real elite fighter that would be bigger than him. Plus he has the better chin. Cotto has a chance at out boxing Margarto, but i just can't see him winning a toe to toe battle in this fight.

Yes, if Cotto beats Margarito than he is no doubt the best welter in the division because he has beaten the better welterweights than Mayweather. Judah and Boldimir couldn't hold a candle to Mosley, Quintana( a current champion) Urkal ( top 10 welterweight at the time) and Margarito would be a great name on his resume. Mayweather does need to fight natural welterweights.
