RJJ: A fighter or a circus act?

Regarding the next fight of Roy Jones Jr. we have over the last few months heard several names mentioned: Jermain Taylor, Mikkel Kessler and now Markus Beyer or even a cage-fight with Anderson Silva.

The last proposition makes me wanna laugh if it wasnt so sad. A fight with an MMA is nothing but a circus-act and has nothing to do with boxing. AND it is a page taken from Floyd Mayweathers book. RJJ: GO YOUR OWN WAY, NOT A WAY ALREADY TROTTENED BY SOMEONE ELSE.

Here is to hoping that RJJ fights a meaningfull opponent. Fight one of the LHW champs. Fight Danny Green (WBA) or Zsolt Erdei (WBO) where RJJ is ranked no. 2 by both. Dont fight a completely shot and washed-up Beyer.

Cut all the BS and fight for real!!

Or retire NOW on your own conditions.

well, to be fair, it wouldnt be a Floyd-like move because Floyd ventured into FAKE fighting where as Roy would be actually engaging in a sanctioned bout. I dont like it though and would rather Roy concentrate on actual contenders.

The Beyer fight seems like a keep busy fight for him, he has his sights set on Calzaghe later in the year if he gets by Hopkins, he said if that doesn't happen he'd try to fight Kessler so he'd got his priorties in order. Although I won't say that same if he fights Silva.

          u guys gata understand something

Roy is looking at Kessler, Beyer, Silva... ALL as one more tune up fight, before he TRYS to get the winner of joe vs bernard....

His ultimate goal is to fight the winner of joe vs bernard...

So kessler (even tho hes no tune up) beyer and silva, are all no different than cotto fighting gomez, and oscar fighting forbes...

Roy is avoiding a real fight no matter who he fights out of Beyer or Silva.
Neither are top contenders in BOXING.
Roy is playing his old game of low risk and take a pay day.
It is no different to his prime.
If he had any real intentions he would be rematching Glen Johnson & Tarver to prove he is back before going for Calzaghe or B-Hype.
But the truth is Roy fans he is Shot and will be visiting sleepy village again when he meets a half decent contender in their prime and not a blown up Welter.
