Kermit Cintron: Was this a big factor in the first fight?

Cintron was coming off of a 9 month lay off when he faced Margarito. He had to take the time off because of a hand injury that needed surgery. Could this be the difference between the first fight and the rematch?
I myself had forgotten about this factor until I re-watched the fight again and Jim Lampley pointed it out. Cintron won't be coming off a lay off do to hand problems in the rematch. How big off a factor do you think it was in the first if any and do you think it effected his performance in the fight?
Could this make a difference between the first and the rematch?

My money is still on Marg, I just can't see Cintron winning this fight after thinking about how badly he did and looked in the first fight but the hand injury and lay off make me wonder if that is the reason he did so poorly the first time around.

    Your thoughts?

That's why you won't see me bet on this fight. I don't know HOW MUCH that lay off, short preperation time and hand injury affected Cintron. Time will tell.

Cintron is an odd ass fighter, at times he can look like crap and then other times he looks like the real deal. His last fight was crap

No, it was more Cintron's amateurish style and limitations that did him in.
He constantly kept trying to set up the big right and Margo kept seeing.

I think cintron was simply not mentally strong enough. He hit Margarito flush once i believe and Margarito just shook it off and traded some more with him. When they got in close and they clinched he tried wrestling Margarito and Margarito just wrestled him back and you could just see cintron's confidence diminish. When he got caught with the shot that opened up the cut that was just the final blow to his self esteem and he completely crumbled mentally after that. It will be hard for him to be able to overcome that imo because deep down he knows that when the fight was stopped he didnt want no more and thats why it was stopped.
