I'm leaning towards B-Hop. Joe has great speed with alot of heart though, thats always tough to beat..but it looks like B-Hop is making up for his lost speed by having his 'dream squad' to make him EXTRA crafty in the ring. Hopkins is definitely doing his homework on Joe, he knows what kind of fighter he's dealing with....with Hopkins you know what ur getting, but you'll never see it coming...

what makes this fight more interesting for me is that both styles are spoilers for any boxer...both have chins...both know how to adjust...both never show fatigue...although I can picture Joe ask his father "what should I do next." ...bernard can sense vulnerability a mile away and take advantage of that..

I don't think that Hopkins is a Light-Heavyweight Champion. He was given to Ring belt for beating a worn out, well-on-the-downgrade Tarver, but he didn't win any other LH title. On the other hand, Calzaghe has fought every kind of fighter there is, and beat them all rather badly. I don't care about Hopkins anyway, particularly since the first Echols fight, although I do watch, because I watch anything in boxing. He is a deliberate fouler. he "laces", head-butts, rabbit-punches, holds, and anything he thinks he can get away with. All the same, he is a very cagy fighter- but he actually talks better than he fights, not championship calibre at all. Just my opinion. Who can remember ever seeing an exciting or interesting Hopkins fight? The most interesting I saw was when the ref pushed him out of the ring, against Allen, I think.

I don't think he has a chance against Calzaghe, although I hope it turns into a good two-sided fight. Cal is too fast and tough, and just as fit as H. Age is also against Hopkins, although even if younger I don't think he could beat Cal, who upgrades his level when his opposition is better, so no-one really knows just how good he can be. He makes his opponent fight HIS fight, Hopkins does the same, except that Hopkins fight is slow and counterpunching, and Calzaghe's fight is whirlwind and energy expending. Only a GREAT fighter can do this. When he was fighting lower quality, like Biko, he messed around and didn't look good.

LMAO at "for what will be the most highly anticipated contest in boxing so far this year." I think either of the two Marquez's brothers fight's was more highly anticipated then this, Dont get me wrong, It's a good fight but it just made me laugh.

LOL, stfu! He was coming off wins over Roy Jones jr. and Glen Johnson and was the huge favorite to beat Hopkins and recognized as the best at light heavy. Then he got schooled by b-hop and all of a sudden he's washed up. Riiiight. And regardless if you think Tarver was washed up or not, it matters not because Hopkins did in fact get his belts (Ring Belt (which is the only one that really matters), IBO, & NBA).

All that other **** you typed was a big waste of time because it has nothing to do with hopkins being champion and only further shows your personal negative opinions of hopkins, which explains why you don't see him as champ.

Makkie Shilstone does wonders for fighters!! Hes the best strenght and conditioningcoach and nutritionist! Hopkins will be in superb shape! he also trained with Shilstone when he fought Tarver and he looked better than years before.

No I don't see Hopkins as Lt. Heavy Champ. And yes it's true, I don't like Hopkins at all, but this has nothing to do with my comments. I'm sufficient of a sportsman not to allow personality to affect my judgement of a fighter's calibre. If you don't think Tarver was about 5 levels BELOW his past form in this fight, then you don't know boxing. He was slow and lethargic from the very beginning, played out. How many like that, plus the Winky fight do we need to see Hopkins' REAL level. Not to even mention his other fights. I feel you DO know boxing, so I'm not sure where you're going with your comments.

I just don't regard the IBO as a World Championship Organization, and I believe that 90% of knowledgeable boxing followers feel the same. The IBO is basically a fake title which promoters pull out of the woodwork when they want to "boost" the attraction of a fight between guys who are NOT champions. They fight for it, but they don't keep it. Except for a very few. If you look at the IBO Champions "records" starting from STRAWWEIGHT on up, you'll see that they often have 8-9 "Champions" in about 7 years, the vast majority of them NO-ONE has ever heard of. And it's rare when one of them actually DEFENDS his title ONCE, although occasionally it DOES happen, even 4-5 times but this is VERY rare, so I'm not saying it doesn't happen. It happened with Hopkins and Tarver, and Roy Jones and Tarver. I got tired looking at the record and stopped. A guy like Roy Jones who loved collecting titles, even worthless sham ones like the IBO, always claimed it, but that was Roy Jones. I think they made the IBO title an extra attraction for one of Wladimir klitschko's recent fights BEFORE he won an actual genuine IBF belt. Typical. I didn't find the NABF record. I didn't look.

The WORLD Championship Belts are the WBC, IBF, WBA, and WBO in that order of recognised importance. There are a few regional stepping stones also. The NABF is probably one of them.

Sorry if you feel I'm wasting the readers' time with venting personal dislike. this wasn't my intention.
