Khan Back Rees - And Wants Next

Press Release - Amir Khan is desperate for Gavin Rees to beat Andreas Kotelnik on Saturday night - so he can fight the Welshman next. Unbeaten Rees claimed that he would give the poster boy of British "a pasting" if the pair were to ever meet. Khan says he will be cheering him on come fight night.

" I've never wanted someone to win a fight so much before," said Khan, who is involved in a WBO World Lightweight title eliminator against Martin Kristjansen at the Bolton Arena on April 5. "I badly want Rees to win so I can shut him up once and for all." [details]

I knew this would be Khans first world title fight, especially as they are both Warren fighters. Afterwards tho I can't see Khan in with Torres, Hatton, Witter tho :| Khan should try and take on Nate Campbell where I think he has a good chance then move up and take a title of Rees if he still has one.

I don't see Khan moving up that fast. Maybe a catchweight?

I don't know Khan is huge at Lightweight, Can't see Rees dropping his title for catchweight. Rees could make Lightweight very easily but I he won't drop a world belt to go down.

He already fought at lightwelter once and won a UD against Drilzane. So it's pretty much guaranteed that if he's successful at lightweight hell move up quick.

He won't have to drop his title if he comes right back up. He will probably move down to fight Khan and than move back up.

On a side note I don't know why Khan haters haven't started calling him CON yet, it's catchy.

He shoud just stick to winning belts at Lightweight before conquering Light Welterweight. Why he wants to win so much so early in his career is beyond me.

He says his NEXT fight though, not one in the future.
