What level do boxers start recieving money?

At what level do boxers start being payed FOR BOXING?

There's a guy at my gym that recently won the European Super-Bantamweight called Rendall munroe and it just got me wondering what level boxers need to be at to really start getting money for doing the thing they love because I know at a high level alot of money is awarded but didnt know at what level the money starts coming in for fights.

You dont really get money unless your co main event or main event on Hbo/Showtime Championship boxing. I am not sure how it works in the UK. But on ESPN/telefutura/Shobox i think being in the main event you will only get 20k tops and co main event i think 3-5k at most.

Is that the same Randall Munroe who's a binman? Seen his fight the other week, not bad skills but as far as I can remember he tired badly late on, throwing baby punches at one point. Still, he's the Euro champ, I'm not even champ of my street!!!

being "pro" means youre getting paid to do it.

its all relative, the higher weights generally make more money

a guy with an olympic medal will likely get a good contract and start making a good living right off the bat.

charlie zelenoff is probably getting 200 bucks, minus taxes and whatever he pays the neighborhood drunkard to work his corner

it depends on how you start, if you are an olympian and won gold/silver/bronze medals you will get signed by a promoter if you have the talent of course but once you sign the work on your career and build a reputation

Dude, if your serious that you go to the sam egym as Rendall can you give him cong**** from me. I have seen a few of his fights and i am very impressed with hin thus far. I saw some of his fights were he was fighting close throwin a lot of hard shots. I liked him then but the way he outboxed the previously unbeated, power punching Euro champ was great. I always though you got paid for any pro fight, but not much until you get to the higher ranks.

All professional boxers get s paycheck. But usually they have to pay their manager, trainer and lawyers with it. Sometimes they even have to pay the promoter. Think of that paycheck as the gross revenue. The trainer, manager and promoter are like employees of the company, which is ostensibly the boxer's career.

So, if a single fight gets the guy $10,000 it's possible that $5,000 goes to paying everyone who works for him. The rest is usually just enough to live on for 2 months. Guys who fight for regional titles tend to make roughly $20 - 50,000 per fight. Those guys make a decent living off of their fights as long as they don't have too many people working for them and manage their money wisely OR don't have bad contracts with either their manager or promoter. It's very common for guys to sign away a lot of their earnings to a powerful promoter or manager. This leads to a lot of splits between fighters and managers and promoters.

Until boxers start making 6 figures per fight though, they probably don't take home more than half the money. So, if you're asking about at what point a dude really makes bank on his fights that's probably the baseline. And very few guys under 126 who aren't fighting for titles get to that point. Between 126 and 160 or so, if you're fighting for titles or regularly on tv you'll make that much for your bigger fights. 168 and up, especially heavyweight, make the most money.

As soon as you turn pro you get paid. Ussally 100 per round. Then if you become a better fighter or fighting on tv or on a huge main event car you get paid more. Just worry about winning and you'll get paid. Be exciting and win and you'll make lots of money.

Or you can be an outstanding amature and pro promoters and managers will give you money under the table to have a stake at your pro career whenever you decide to turn pro.
