Will Calzaghe be given fair treatment by the ref and judges in Las Vegas?

I remember what happened to Ricky Hatton in Las Vegas, how the referee Joe Cortez was so hard on him, and wouldn't let him fight on the inside.

There have been many questionable decisions by the judges in Las Vegas, in fights involving fighters from other countries. One that comes to mind is De La Hoya vs. Sturm.

Can Joe expect to be treated fairly? Maybe Joe will win a wide decision in the ring, and then lose a close decision on the judges scorecards.

Joe doesn't resort to excessively holding and clinching, and IF he doesn't get fair treatment from the ref, he is smart enough to have a back up plan and change his approach, unlike Hatton.

As for the judges well aslong as his workrate his high I think he will get fair treatment.

I've been assured by recent judging of fights in the US.

I mean Pacman lost according to me but then got the decision presumably because he was the aggressor in the close rounds!

Also Lacy's decision against Manfredo! Lacy was going forward but hit him about 6 times..lol. But was the aggressor

Daniel Ponce De leon got thoroughly outboxed and won a unanimous decision againt Escobedo. Because he was the aggressor

Joe is going to making that fight. I'm not worried.

Hatton didn't win rounds against Floyd because he didn't throw nearly enough punches.

I think he will, they should appoint neutral judges and a good referee because of Hopkins rough tactics though.

I know for a fact this fight has controversy written all over it.

Because I think there's a 99.9% chance it will go the distance and that leaves for suspect scores when you take into consideration both guy's styles.

I mean if the judges see Hopkins landing the slick counter punches and temporarily quit scoring for the Calzaghe who is throwing......or vice versa: with the Judges being impressed with Calzaghe's handspeed and punches in bunches and not paying attention to the slick counters.......a bias ensues.

Well I think the scores will be all over the wall with the judges.

And I don't think reffing will have a huge bearing on this fight.

I worry about the reffing. But Hopkins does illegal **** all the time and never gets penalized, so Joe knows to be prepared. Hopkins will turn his head, duck his head low, and use it as a jab. Hopkins vaunted "defense" is mostly illegal, but he's been doing it long enough thay you plan for it.

And Joe does a lot of the same stuff anyway, and even adds rabbit punches.

When they're heads collide, it'll be because both guys led with their noggins

                It is highly doubtful!

We all saw what happened to Ricky Hatton when he stepped up a weight and faced Mayweather.

The fact that this fight is taking place in Bernard Hopkins' back yard may just give him the edge.

I just hope that racist Bernard Hopkins gets his arse handed to him, but it will be hard.

Yeah i never thought about like that ,Ponce De Leon should have lost his title to escobedo & i thought Manfredo landed the cleaner more accurate shots against Lacy & probably should have won or gotten a draw at least Lacy did'nt do anything accept march foward ,Pacman obviously should have lost
