    American Thoughts on Austalians?

Im an Australian. And i love boxing, sadly in my country its full of a lot of talent. The talent though fights lesser opponents. Other than Katsidis and a couple of others.

Im curious to see what Americans thoughts are on Australians. Even though they think fighters don't exist outside of America.

Please give me some detailed views on our most talented (heres the list)

    Already there (Katsidis)

    1. Anthony Mundine
    2. William Kickett
    3. Danny Green
    4. Paul Briggs
    5. Sakio Bika
    6. Jamie Pittman.

(Sakio isn't naturally Australian but we classify him as our own. E.G Bute and Montreal)

Please give me some detailed responses everyone. Look forward to reading them.

Mundine is a good solid fighter with a good skill set but he has to fight better opposition.

I don't think Green will be more than a measuring stick because everytime he stepped up in class, he got beaten.

Bika is wild and crude but has a good chin and good power so his fights are unpredictable and could be exciting.

Briggs could become a contender at 175, he's a good tough fighter but the long layoff could affect him.

I haven't seen Kickett or Pittman.

Probaby the best Australian you have. Should be showcasing his talent against more top opposition, he knows he is cheating his fans and hopefully that changes SOON.
        2. William Kickett
Very good prospect, fast hands and has respectable power mixed in with some good reflexes. I have only seen two of his fights, one only lasting one round, so I had to go from there.
        3. Danny Green
Good fighter, great chin and tons of heart. I would like Roy to face him as well. Mundine and him made Australia tons of money correct? They should do it again although I do see Mundine coming out victorious Danny will put up a better showing.
        4. Paul Briggs
Should make some noise at 168. Loved his battles with Adamek, shows he can **** IT OUT. I would like to see him face Bute, that would be a good fight.
        5. Sakio Bika
Strong as an Ox with a good chin and power. YES, he took some MAJOR bombs from Jaidon and stayed up only getting knocked down once. That would be a good fight for Jermain to try to get back on track.
        6. Jamie Pittman.
"Mr Business" is probaby the best prospect you guys have. Well he isn't going to be one anymore after he faces Sturm who I think he can beat. So good luck to the future champ come his up and coming title fight.

Mundine is a pretty good fighter, but I dont think hes amazing or anything...and Im a little bit dissapointed by his choice of opponents. but overall, he has a fairly solid record.

I honestly havent seen much of Danny Greene, so I cant say much about him. havent seen Kickett or Pittman either, sorry. what weight classes are they in, and are they rated by RING or the alphabet belts?

Katsidis is a little bit way too open and gets cut easily, as seen in his last fight and his fight with Earl. however, because he is so easy to hit, I think people could fall under the Arturo Gatti syndrome. Gatti's opponents would sometimes forget their natural styles and start teeing off on Gatti just because he was so easy to hit, and because of that they would get ****** into a tradeoff of punches with him. because of Gatti's stamina, punching power, chin and heart, he could end up winning fights over more talented opponents by luring them into that brawl and outbrawling them.
With Katsidis's punching power, stamina and heart, I think he could get some pretty big wins if his opponents fall into a brawl with him like they did with Gatti. problem is, personally I dont think Katsidis's chin is as good as Gatti's.

Briggs is a pretty tough bastard from what Ive seen from his fights with Adamek, but it seems like he hasnt fought in a really long time...what the hell is going on with him?

Bika is pretty good. he throws really wild punches sometimes, but he has a lot of experience and gets the job done. Hes a top ten 168lber, and I would like him to face Andrade, that would be a great fight, and one I think he could win. but I heard he turned it down...I dont know tho. Ive heard he was winning the Beyer fight up until the cut stoppage...but havent seen the fight, so I couldnt say.

not a very nice comment there. how are we supposed to know all about Australian fighters when the majority of Australian fighters arent even on American TV? that goes for most places. fans that go on the internet and everything are one thing, but most boxing fans in America can only know about the boxers that are available on television, and generally America doesnt get telecasts from Australia or other places...I mean, we have HBO, Showtime, Friday Night Fights, Versus Fight Night and maybe one or two local channels that show local fights and every once in a while Fox Sports Network. not like we have a chance to see lower level foreign fighters often...
