    Isn't gavin rees a bit under-rated?

Seems nobody is giving the little guy a chance in the future except me. Why do I think he will?

    1) He is being trained in the calzaghe camp. As cheesy as it sounds, probably one of the best, if not the best training camp in britan.
    2) He has very good defense, he uses his height disadvantage to his advantage making him very hard to hit. He moves forwards and backwards to the opponent with great speed.
    3) His work-rate. Although he hasn't got much power, he hits a lot of punches, especially on the body making his opponent tire.

Seriously for a chubby little guy he is suprisingly fit and fast. I honestly think he is a class b version of ricky hatton, just no power. Hes not going to want to give away his belt just now, even if hes only just in it for the money, theres certainly more money available in the future if he wins his next few title defenses. Even ricky hatton has his eye on him.

    yeah he's alrite.

I made a thread about him being hard to hit. I'm intrigued to see if that really is the case. i've only seen him against M'Baye.

I would imagine he would get beat by a world class fighter, he is giving up too many advantages and could even be two weight classes out of his ideal weight class.

He should be fighting guys like Kevin Mitchell at superfeather, lol.

I think he is underrated. Although he is at a size disadvantage, he's actually a decent fighter.

He boxed very well against M'Baye, I was impressed with him.

Yeah he is underrated. People talk about him like he is a bum... He dominated a Champion in M'Baye and made it look very easy.

He is definitely a top 10 figher at LW, maybe more.

Rees is a good little fighter, i fully expect him to pull out a convincing UD against Kotelink.

My money's on Kovetnik this weekend. Aside from M'baye, Rees has fought nobody but bums.

Rees isnt underrated, hes the worst holder of a major title in the sport imo.

I will bet all my points against all of yours that Kotelnik wins if you want?

You will realise that in these threads the people who like to talk bad about Rees are English and either are huge nut huggers of Hatton or they just disslike Welsh people.

There is a reason that aside from M'Baye Rees has fought bums and that is he was a bum himself untill recently ... at least people thought that. He proved he can cope at the top level when he beat M'Baye and will defend his title against a very tricky opponent in his next fight.

                  Props to Rees.

Props to Rees for winning, but more shame on M'baye for underrating him.
