i understand what you're saying to a certain degree. i would have handled the loss differently if i was JMM but I can understand the frustration he must feel due to everything he has endured since the first bout, making the ****** mistaker of declining the rematch, getting robbed against Chris John and even his brother's loss to Vazquez.

Yeah, it's got to be frustrating. I just don't like what they said afterwards but it's probably in the heat of the moment.

You mean like when Pacquiao cried and had hissy fits about getting beat by Morales? It was the gloves, he got head butted, he was robbed... etc. He was much worse than Marquez has been. He really lost that fight. No question. Marquez actually has the right to be angry. Marquez won nearly every round in their first fight and got a draw. Ok, cool. Pacquiao complained and gave excuses for a long time after that. This time Marquez won again and it basically being his last chance he really has the right to be pissed with not only boxing judges but Pacquiao as well. Pacquiao's main priority should be to rematch Marquez immediately.

Something about this bout just got to me, I must admit. Afterwards I felt quite bitter actually. After seeing some really bad decisions very often lately... ...Knowing what Marquez has been through his whole career and always getting the short end of the stick, he more than deserved it! This was his time man! Now, more than ever, I jump up after I know who has won only to sit back down after my initial excitement to start wondering who actually will win? Boxing matches are often very clear cut...but it never is. There is just so much corruption and money for **** faced officials that you can't be certain anymore when you know a fighter has won.

After this one, I jumped up knowing Marquez had won, especially with the very strong finish by him making it, in my opinion, all but certain. Right when they read out the second score showing that is was going to be a SD I knew Pacquiao was going to get it.

There was too much money to lose on Pacquiao getting shown up. His big match with Diaz, and more unification fights or whatever cash they can drum out of him. He still has many fights left whereas Marquez is old. I don't know...after watching some truly ****ty, foul ridden decisions, which this was not, it was close, not a robbery but everyone I know knew it was a clear victory for Marquez, I feel strangely angry. More so than usual. Casamayor/Cruz, Mijares/Navarro (while Mijares still won, I cannot remember ever seeing such a completely ******, moronic, ****ed up score as that from Tucker. Every round for someone who had been one hundred percent schooled! It should have been an immediate death by firing squad).

This one just hit at the wrong time in the wrong fight and for the wrong person. I can't remember a fighter that deserved to win more than Marquez did that night. When he got up from that brutal knockdown that would have KO'ed anyone else in that division, I knew that this fight was more important to him than anything and he was going to get it no matter what happened or what he had to go through. As seems to happen to so many, when a fighter can't take the fight away from someone, the judges often do.

For some reason, this reminded me of Fenech/Nelson 1. Fenech destroyed Nelson in that fight and won every round bar maybe three or so. Clearly!!! He had him nearly KO'ed twice throughout the fight, one time a definite when the corner pulled some dodgy magic and got Nelson a lot of time to recover being unable to find his mouthpiece... Fenech would have become the only undefeated fighter in history to win titles in four weight divisions! Well, he did it! Nelson could not stop him from taking that fight. Sadly, the judges did it for him. They could not give the fight to Nelson because that would have been beyond ridiculous so they settled for the draw. It destroyed Fenech in every sense. It tore his soul straight from his chest. He only had a few more fights, every one of them a sad reminder of what one fight can do to a fighter when he wins but gets it torn from his grasp by officials, not an opponent.

I don't excuse Pacquiao for what he did after the Morales fight. Like Arum said in the post fight press conference, just because two judges scored it for the other guy doesn't mean there's something wrong with boxing. I understand that Marquez worked very hard to get to this point of his career, but it was a close fight and could've gone either way.

Yeah, I dig. That post wasn't directed at you in any particular way either man. More just a general rant at being angry at boxing and it's dodgy ways. Or even at the Pac/Marquez fight really. The athletes deserve so much more respect than they get. Sadly, money, popularity, titles with easy fights and many, many paper titles takes precedence over who rightly wins a fight these days. I think more these days than ever nearly.

is it possible in professional boxing to have 10 judges instead of 3? this is to ensure that judging is fair.

but on second thought, i think it would not make any difference at all, would it?

The fight was close and could've gone either way. This has been discussed to death. Just because a fighter comes out and says what we all know already doesn't mean he should get a thread about it.

Once again i reitterate that while Marquez has all the talent in the world to beat Pacquiao he DID NOT try to do it Convincingly. Given Pac threw a fit when he lost to Morales but every fight he is in Pac is on a mission to destroy. Every boxer knows they take a gamble everytime they leave a fight in judges hands. Out of anyone Pac has fought JMM is the only one who has the power to put Pac down but decided he wanted to look pretty and take a gamble while Pac was constantly looking to end the fight early and decisively. As was the case with vasquez vs r.marquez bout to a lesser degree. The more agressive fighter got the nod as often happens. So waaahh both of you Marquez bros. You both do deserve rematches but you get no sympthy from me if you dont.

Marquez was the champ and Pac has to beat HIM convincingly.

Thank you, I have been dweling on this since the fight ended, Pac did not do enough to take the belt, people make it seem like Pac was the champ and JMM was trying to take the belt from Pac. It just goes to show that they give the decision to who ever they think can bring them more money as champion.
