Jerry Roth Lambasted for giving Marquez 115-112

    Aaron Jones,
On my card, Pacquiao won seven rounds mirrored by Duane Ford in the official judging. The official decision was read a split, with Pacquiao edging it out because of the knockdown. Once again in a major fight Jerry Roth was an embarrassment to his profession, scored the fight eight rounds to four for Marquez. In the aftermath of the epic Oscar De La Hoya-Felix Trinidad clash, he took flack for giving Tito three of the first four rounds. Hopefully in the analysis of this fight, someone will step up and remove him from major assignments for once again seeing things through such an awful lens.

I had it even going into the 12th and thought Marquez clearly won the round, giving him a one point victory on my card by a score 114-113. There were a few close rounds, I thought. Round 1 could've easily been given to Marquez, tho most people would give it to Pac (as I did). If that's the case, I can see Marquez being given 8 rounds.

It was a very close fight that could've gone either way. It was not a robbery, and it was not a bad scorecard from Roth. However, a third fight is definitely called for, IMHO.

you cannot call it a robbery because the fight was very close...that's it...

I didn't think Roth's card was that bad, I personally had the fight a draw, but there was close rounds that could have gone either way so I was fine with Roth's card and the decision in the end. The fight wasn't a robbery, but a close contested fight and if you've watched boxing over the years many judges favor different things in a fight, it's not an exact science.
